Dr.Y. Walid Bizreh harvested twelve different scientific patents relating to the diverse fields of Chemistry; four of which were presented, examined and passed successfully as novelty by WIPO;WIPO is the World Intellectual Property Organization, United Nations, headquartered in Geneva Switzerland, it is the world’s highest authority for intellectual property.
Prof. Y. Walid Bizreh’s diverse scientific research, contribution to human knowledge, and innovation of breakthrough environmentally friendly industrial solutions took decades of unrelenting devotion to the advancement of human knowledge and life on earth. His work focused on contributing to the local economies through making use of neglected raw materials, industrial wastes recycling and sustainability. He held several positions worldwide including the position of a professor at Damascus University, a visiting scientist at the University of Delaware, and the Chief Editor of the Damascus University Scientific Magazine.
His breakthrough innovations focused on developing environmentally friendly solutions for a diverse array of industries and rallying for sustainable manufacturing. his inventions included the creation of a hybrid molecular sieve for the removal of OMWW, Olive Mill Waste Water. In addition, the conversion of the harmful carbon monoxide and pollutants emitted from vehicles combustion engines’ exhausts by inventing a novel method for building a catalytic converter at a fraction of the cost. His inventions also included inventing an economical and eco-friendly Oil Drilling mud for potential use by the oil industry; his unrelenting research ,which lasted decades, was devoted for developing environmentally friendly products capable of benefiting industries with added value products and key industrial niches. Prof. Bizreh established one of the few factories of its kind devoted for producing the active ingredient in detergents based on his invention of Perborate, as a substitute of TAED (Tetra Atetel Etelene De Amin).He later developed a patented chlorine free and environmentally friendly multipurpose cleaning agent .In addition, he invented adsorbents, made from raw material, capable of absorbing Tar and Nicotine resulting from the burning process of cigarettes and tobacco. Among his breakthrough environmentally momentous inventions was inventing a method for converting the high sulfur content petroleum-Cock to an ion-exchanger for water treatment. In addition, he invented a method for the desulphurization of Petroleum-Cock to achieve a lesser content of Sulfur that meets the conditions of ASTM.
Prof. Bizreh focused his hard work on the quality of scientific research rather than focusing on the quantity, and he attentively chose his research prioritizing the economic and environmental topics, because of their higher purpose of serving humanity.
